Description:
Grat Dalkton came on the scene in 1891. They were from Kansas. The four brothers were wanted for crimes in Kansas. There was a train robbery close to Ceres. The Dalton Gang was arrested, but several of them had alibi's. Grat Dalton was convicted of the robbery, but escaped while awaiting sentencing. Grat Dalton holed up on Dalton Mountain with one of his accomplices. But they were betrayed by the person who was supplying the outlaws on Dalton Mountain. The posse trapped them on the Mountain, but the outlaws escaped, riding out of California. The hideout was more of a wide space, facing Wonder Valley, by a large granite boulder. From Oak to Pine to Timberline by Helen and Forest Clingman
