GNIS does not have a reference to this location. It is just west of the Furance Creek Wash at the eastern end of the Park.The book Best Easy Day Hikes Death Valley National Park has a hike up this canyon. It prefers to call it Mummy Canyon after a formation resembling a mummy at the entrance to the canyon. There is a rock with  T A Jensen 1862 etched in it. The Park's archeologist has not returned an email about this.
