Joseph Barlow Lippincott, hydrographer for U. S. Geological Survey and U. S. Reclamation Service, 1894-1904; born in Pennsylvania, 1864; now (1926) living in Los Angeles. From Place Names of the High Sierra (1926) by Francis P. Farquhar
