Anderson Home

Anderson Home
1120 T Street

The Anderson Home, built in 1913, is severely plain except for jig sawn applique on the pediment of gabled front porch. Downtown Fresno once had many such homes, known as the American Foursquare type, but very few remain today.

I have not found anything on who Anderson is. Was he a farmer? A clerk? A preacher? I do not know. But by the look of this house I would say that he was an everyman. And this might be the most appropriate way to end this walk. Very few houses were like the Goodman, Prescott, or Martin houses. I think they may have been more like this one.

When we saw this house, we thought, how cute. Wonder how much this house is for sale for. It is pretty nice to see a house how the downtown probably looked a hundred years ago. Feb 2020 price on Zillow is $273,000
