US Post Office

U.S. Post Office (1939)

2309 Tulare Street
Lewis A. Simon & William Dewey Foster, Architects
Monumental Moderne

Depression era building with an art deco decorations-look at the eagles on the inside and outside.

This was Fresno's main post office until the mid-1970s, and also housed Federal courtrooms and offices. The building features numerous examples of art work funded by the Works Projects Administration. It now houses administrative offices for the Fresno Unified School District, though a small post office still remains in the building.
