Description:

Malcolm McLeod was a ranger with the Sierra National Forest. He invented the McLeod tool which is one of the handheld tools used in firefighting.

the Macleod (sic) tool, invented in 1905 by Ranger Malcolm Macleod (sic) on the Sierra National Forest in California. This sturdy combination rake-and-hoe or ax-and-mattock has withstood the test of time, although it never gained the popularity of the pulaski.
