Description:

A late night to bed gets me a late morning. I get up close to 9. Sherri is awake, but temporarily. Looks like it is sprinkling outside, so not sure what we are doing today. If Sherri does not feel up to it, I might wander around the area. I fixed us some oatmeal and toast. Then run to the store for some things to help Sherri out. I managed to get two of the wrong things and missed her text to get soup. Guess it means another trip. It was raining a bit when I went but had stopped by the time I came back.

Sherri gets up, but then goes back to bed. I spend some time reading and writing up my notes. By about 1:30, I am thinking that I want to go out for my walk. Sherri is asleep, so I leave her a text.

My route starts across the street from us-I go down to the light to cross Peachtree. Then head north on Brookhaven drive NE. There is a pillar which notes Historical Brookhaven. This leaves me wondering, what is historical about it? But then there are houses lining this street which really say South to me.

This leads into what I think is a park. But it is the Brookhaven Community Club Golf Course. A sign says that this was Georgia’s first golf club community which was built around the Capital City Country Club. The houses around the golf course do speak to me of wealth. Brookhaven Drive NE, and I suspect the NE is an important designation, goes on the east side of the course. Eventually it heads off to the North and east and I follow its path. Still more elegant houses.

There are a couple small triangle parks where streets come together. A bench has been set there and I make use of it, resting my legs. Then it is off again. Brookhaven meets Marby road and I go on it. This intersects Winston Parkway. A busy street, but not nearly as busy as Peachtree. When it hits Osborne, I have a choice. My original thought was to go further to Blackburn Park. But that is about twice as far as I have already come. My legs are getting a bit tired. So I decided to head down to Osborne.

As I look at the map, I see that Crumbl cookies is not too far away from Osborne. So maybe I will visit that store and pick up some goodies for Sherri. But when I get close by, I realize I probably would need to go through someone’s backyard and maybe hop a fence. So I am content to just go to Peachtree and return.

I know about how far I need to walk now, about a mile as I can see our MARTA station. There is Brookhaven Park and I see a place to sit for a few minutes. Then I am on my way. I stop at Krogers for a couple cans of soup and return shortly after 4.

I am tired, so I rest and read for a while. Then I fixed dinner. Vegetable soup for Sherri and Stouffer's lasagna for me. Then I take a shower so Sherri can run the washing machine with my stinky clothes. Then we lounge around until a little after 10. Oh yeah, I have finished The Count of Monte Christo. Now on to Peter Attil’s book, Outlive.
