  • This name was given to the island by the Coos Indians to honor all past Coos tribal chiefs. The Coos Tribe formerly inhabited a village on the headland on the mainland directly opposite the island.    
  • Located along the southern Oregon coast on which Gregory Point is located, 4 km (2.5 mi) W of Charleston, within the Cape Arago US Coast Guard Station.
