Waiting in Fresno

Most of the morning was putting the final touches on getting ready to leave for a week. Sherri had a few more things to pack. So I was just moseying around until we left at 11:25. We got to the Fresno Air Terminal and checked our one bag. A pretty painless process, except for me learning to read that there was a line to check bags only. Went through TSA without a hitch and then waited a half an hour before being able to board.

The first leg of our journey on Alaskan Air is from Fresno to Seattle. It was a bit bumpy, but not bad. I am making my way through the book Crime and Punishment, so this is a good time make some headway. We got to see the mountains of Washington on the way in. Then flew over the center part of Seattle, including a bird's eye view of the Space Needle.

We had a 20 minute wait before boarding the much larger and less filled plane to Portland. We got into Portland a bit before 5pm, ahead of schedule. It took us a while to go down the corridor of Terminal C. By the time we got to the baggage pick up, our checked bag was waiting for us.

Also Andrea just pulled in when we stepped outside. She drove us to her and Lawrence’s place in Salem. There Lawrence had prepared a Costco shepherd’s pie and brought it right out of the oven. We talked until 9:45. They have to get up in the morning. It is the start of a good trip.
