Description:

The Washington Monument dominates the skies wherever you look. But the bell tower of the Old Post Office building is sneaky in that regards. It is around, you just have to look for it.

The history behind the Old Post Office building is interesting. It was created a a grand building, but through disuse, it was fading away. But then through citizen action, it was to be restored and put to a new use. This induced being a hotel. For a time, this was part of the Trump empire. But in 2021, it was sold to the Waldorf-Astoria. NPS has always retained the right to take people up to the top of the bell tower and that is available today.
